WHAT:  Erection of the legendary Zurbagan town (from A.Grin novels) - the town of dreams, dreams about the sea, the wind and the sails...

DETAILS:

The place for carrying out of the seventh architectural festival TOWNS will be the most mysterious and romantic place at Crimea coast - the deserted peninsula near Koktebel town.
Once there was the confidential naval base on testing of underwater torpedoes, and in the future is planned to build a Town-myth, a Town-legend, similar to fantastic dream of ancient Greeks who came here more then 3000 years ago!
The primary goal of the festival will be creation of an image and an atmosphere of the future Town. As probable themes you can choose:
- STREET of TWO SEAS - the central axis of the city
- The CENTRAL SQUARE - as the city market, theater and a temple
- HARBOUR
- QUAY
- LIGHTHOUSES
- CITY BUILDINGS - a library, a grammar school, a bakery, a tavern, a fisherman house and so on.
- ENTRANCE GATE (a triumphal arch)
As a condition for participation each team should offer the Concept idea of transformation of all territory of peninsula in the Town of dreams, and also develop it's fragment (within the framework of the set themes) for the subsequent implementation!
Allowable building materials are wood, fabric, metal cables. Organizers of the festival are ready to pay for 1 cube meter of wood saw timbers and to help with purchase and transference of materials (wood, metal cables, fabric) up to a building site also. All other materials - ONLY BY AGREEMENCE WITH ORGANIZERS and for the money of participants. The popular set of hardware (nails and screws) will be on a building site in enough amount.

CONCEPT IDEA:
The basic idea of the future Town - connection of XXI century innovations and Crimea thousand-year traditions. It's possible functions:
- Fellowship with the Sea,
- An oasis of culture,
- A sports oasis,
- the place for relaxation...
it is not necessary to attach to current building since basically it will be demounted.

Material submission:
JPEG files with the size 2000*1000mm with the 100-150 p/inch resolution are accepted. All projects will be printed out on a banner fabric and become participants of an exposition in the Torpedo hall for the period of the festival.

The future " builders of the real Town " also will hand prizes to the most interesting projects in their opinion.

Thus, for the participation in the festival it is necessary to form a team, to send the APPLICATION before July 30, the general CONCEPT IDEA, and also the SKETCH of your construction on towns@mail.ru  and also to pay a small starting payment.
