SUBJECT:
architectural reflection
of the Russian alphabet As a written memorial, a monument of architecture - is the exact time stamp. Architecture - expressed in the amount of language culture, language, national identity or lack thereof. That is why it is in connection with the celebration of Days of Slavic literature and culture, it was decided to hold an architectural action "GOROD AZ", in which architects were invited to understand the deeper meaning of the first letters of the Slavic alphabet, to get to their essence and of giving it to architectural form.

WHERE: Ryazan Region, Staraya
Ryazan
In 1237 the city was destroyed by
the Mongol-Tatars and gradually fell into decay. The capital of Ryazan
region has been moved in Pereyaslavl Ryazan (now the city of Ryazan) in
the mid 14 century and the Old Ryazan desolated in 16 century.

Cathedral Youth Summit " Alphabet of spirit and freedom" and the Days of
Slavonic Written Language and Culture.

GENERAL PLAN:
|
The main plan was organized in the form of the Glagolitic circle and each team offers for the development of one of the letters.
"Glagolitic circle" is a multifunctional system of spatial and temporal coordinates, which is recognized by the orientation of the cardinal points, the solar annual cycle for the seasons, Zodiac system, and other astronomical knowledge, known to science of medieval Byzantium. |

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: The
Organizer provides transportation of participants from Ryazan to the venue
of the festival, the food during the construction and presentation,
construction materials (according to pre-sent specification), an essential
tool, hardware and support of professional carpenters. In addition, six of
the best projects received cash prizes.
